"Beloved Me Again" is a hit song by English singer John Newman. The song was released as a digital download in Europe on 17 May 2013, except for the United Kingdom where information technology was released on 30 June 2013 as the lead unmarried from his debut studio album, Tribute (2013). The song was written past Newman and Steve Booker and produced by Booker and Mike Spencer. The song was afterward featured on the soundtrack for video game FIFA 14.
It was nominated for the Brit Award for British Unmarried of the Year at the 2022 BRIT Awards[one] and nominated for the 2022 Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.
Groundwork [edit]
In an interview with Digital Spy, Newman was asked if he sensed that the song had something special about it in the studio. He said, "Yep. The guy I wrote it with (Steve Booker), we turned around and had massive grins on our faces thinking, 'At that place'due south something good hither'. Only you only never know how proficient it is, you know?".
Newman was also asked if it was hard to write the lyrics almost dearest and break-upward, he said, "No, it's the only place where I actually open up to somebody, through my music. I'one thousand producing [the anthology] and writing it, it's good. I like to keep a hold of everything".[2]
With the chord progression of Gm—Bb—Dm—C, the vocal is written in the key of G Dorian. The key signature is in D minor. Both are modes of F major, of which either one tin be used every bit the tonic note/chord, because, however, the F major chord is not nowadays in the vocal.[iii]

Ii music videos, both with elements of Northern soul dancing, have been released for "Love Me Again". One version[iv] directed by Vaughan Arnell is based on the archetype dear story of Romeo and Juliet.[5] The woman in the video, Juliet, is French extra Margaux Billard, carefully watched over by her blood brother, Tybalt, played past Joseph Steyne. The Romeo, is British model Tommy-Lee Winkworth. This video ends in a bewilderment as they get run over by a truck and their fate remains unknown till Newman'south follow-upwards single "Cheating", which starts with a newspaper article indicating that they had indeed survived the crash, which was a hit-and-run accident.
Another version features Newman, backed by musicians, singing in a dimly lit room.[6]

In popular culture [edit]
"Love Me Again" was featured on the soundtrack of video game FIFA fourteen,[viii] giving information technology a cult status among FIFA fans, besides as the Federation'due south #WorldCupAtHome series, which opened FIFA's annal during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also appeared in the closing credits of the 2022 science fiction film, Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Edgeless. The vocal was besides featured on the American TV serial, Suits in the episode, "Buried Secrets", which aired on 6 March 2014, and in the opening scenes of the showtime episode of season 4, "I-Two-Three Become", which aired xi June 2014. "Dear Me Once more" is besides a playable vocal in Just Dance 2015. The song was too used as the theme to the television testify Whiskey Cavalier which debuted in February 2022 and ended in May subsequently one flavour.[9] In Baronial 2022 and May 2022 it was used in Television set and radio adverts for National Track.
The French channel TF6 also used this vocal to shutdown its channel.
